Clay Lake Bridge in Spalding to be refurbished next month

News release from Lincolnshire County Council
The existing carriageway and footways will be taken up so the bridge can be re-waterproofed and new bridge joints installed.
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 22 July and expected to take six weeks to complete.
During that time, the bridge will be closed to traffic, with motorists diverted via Spalding Drove, the A16, Low Road, Halmer Gate, Stonegate and Clay Lake. The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists.
Cllr Richard Davies, Executive Member for Highways, said: "It's vital we make these repairs to ensure the bridge remains safe for people to use.
"We realise this is likely to cause disruption for those in the local area, for which we apologise. We've tried to minimise this by carrying out the work during the school holidays when traffic is much lighter.
"As always, we advise people to leave additional time for their journeys and use alternative routes wherever possible."
