Spalding hosts 2019 Pumpkin Festival

Pumpkin1Spalding's much-loved Pumpkin Festival comes to town next Friday (11 October) with entertainment for all ages.

Now in its 18th year, Spalding Pumpkin Festival, which starts at 11am and closes at 8pm, attracts thousands of visitors with lots of things to see and do for all the family.

Among the attractions will be a charity stalls, a face painting competition, stilt walkers, a fancy dress competition for children aged 0-4, 5-7 and 8-12 years, live music from bands Revolver and Zebra, a pumpkin parade culminating in a firework display from the South Holland Centre.

Councillor Gary Taylor, deputy leader and portfolio holder for communities and facilities, believes the Pumpkin Festival is an unmissable event for people of all ages.

"The Spalding Pumpkin Festival is an annual event that attracts many thousands of visitors which is good for the town and the district. It's great to see so many families and children attend the event and really puts Spalding on the map.

Several roads and car parks will be closed or partially-closed around the town centre, such as the Sheep Market (closed all day), Market Place (4pm to 10pm) and The Crescent (4pm to 10pm) for the event to take place, with rolling road closures between 6-10pm on the Parade Route, including Station Street, Spring Gardens, London Road, Haverfield Road, Priory Road and High Bridge.
